A brute.  He ate a 4 lb amberjack right in from of us.  One of the biggest barracuda the captain has ever seen.  Caught live-lining a small AJ, no weight on 20 pound test using a Penn 7500 spinning reel and a 6" rod.  Holy cow.

In North Carolina you have to kill a barracuda for a citation and it only has to weigh 20 pounds.  This guy's TEETH weigh 20 pounds.  Seriously, Captain Miller estimates the fish's weight at 50+ pounds.  We turned him loose to fight another day.

Another view of the brute. He was so slimy and heavy I could barely hold him up.

Mr. Amberjack.  Not the biggest I have ever caught but they are a blast to jig up on spinning tackle.

Sure was nice of the governor to send a private ferry for the mighty fish warrior.  This is the first time I have ever been the ONLY car on the ferry.  Even in the dead of winter there is usually at least one other vehicle.
